Marvel Studios introduces a new hero to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doctor Strange hits theaters this weekend! When the renowned and also self-centered surgeon Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) is in a horrific car accident that renders his prized hands useless to his craft, he sets out on a journey to find a way to heal them. When he encounters a being known as The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton), he becomes a student of the mystical and martial arts on his way to becoming the new Sorcerer Surpreme. Joining Cumberbatch and Swinton is a stellar cast including Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mads Mikkelsen, Benjamin Bratt, and Benedict Wong. Get ready for one of the most visually trippy movies yet about traveling through multiple dimensions in what should be another fun MCU installment. Directed by Scott Derrickson.

Ben Affleck's latest starring role tells us an original story of about a mathematics savant named Christian Wolff who lives as a small-town accountant who secretly makes his real living cooking the books for dangerous crime organizations. While being tailed by a treasury agent, Wolff takes on a state-of-the-arts robotics company as a client. When he starts to uncover the truth about a discrepancy that involves millions of dollars, the body count rises. Directed by Gavin O'Connor (Warrior) this action-thriller also provides a solid supporting cast in Anna Kendrick, JK Simmons, Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey Tambor, and John Lithgow.

NOTE: Unlike their films, Marvel's Netflix shows tend to be for a more mature audience! After the success of Daredevil and Jessica Jones, Marvel looks to continue building their universe that will culminate with The Defenders with the debut of Power Man himself, Luke Cage! When an experiment leaves him with super-strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Coulter) is a fugitive looking to rebuild his life while fighting for the heart of his home city of Harlem. The series brings a big 90's hip hop influence to it while also posing some real life similarities to today's society. Supporting cast includes Mahershala Ali, Alfre Woodard, Simone Massick , Theo Rossi, and Rosario Dawson. Coming to Netflix this week!
Jon's Movie Preview of the Week - The Magnificent Seven
This movie is directed by Antoine Fuqua , who brought you Training Day, The Equalizer, and Southpaw. Th is remake of the 1960 film of the same name (which is a remake of the 1954 film Seven Samurai) stars Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D'Onofrio, Byung-Hun Lee, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Martin Sensmeier as the titular 7 characters.
When the town of Rose Creek is taken under control by industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Peter Sarsgaard), a woman representing the people of her town (Haley Bennett) employs the help of 7 outlaws as hired guns to protect them and their town.
If you're a fan of the original movies or just a fan of good ol' American-Western style movies, this is definitely one to check out!
Jon's Movie Preview of the Week - Sully
The fall movie season is now upon us, and hitting the big screens this weekend is Sully which is based on the autobiography Highest Duty by Chesley Sullenberger and Jeffrey Zaslow. Starring Tom Hanks as Sullenberger, who goes by Sully, it tells the true story of US Airways Flight 1549, where Sullenberger heroically crash lands the plane in the Hudson River after the engines are crippled by a flock of geese barely three minutes after departing from La Guardia Airport in 2009. This film marks the first time Hanks will star in a film directed by Clint Eastwood. Starring alongside Hanks are Aaron Eckhart (Dark Knight, Thank You For Smoking) and Laura Linney (You Can Count on Me, TMNT 2). In theaters September 9th.
Jon's Movie Preview of the Week - Sausage Party
From the minds that brought you Pineapple Express and This Is The End, the creative duo of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg return to the silver screen with their latest R-Rated animated comedy Sausage Party. The film follows a sausage named Frank (voiced by Seth Rogen) who leads a group of various products at a supermarket on a quest to discover their true purpose and find out what their fate really is when they are chosen to leave the store. Joining Rogen is a stellar voice cast that includes the likes of Jonah Hill, James Franco, Kristen Wiig, Paul Rudd, Salma Hayek, Michael Cera, Edward Norton, and Danny McBride!

Jon's Netflix Pick of the Week
Currently streaming on Netflix, Fastball is a fascinating and informative documentary exploring the history and science of baseball's most common pitch. The film covers some of the hardest pitchers in the history of the sport including Walter Johnson, Sandy Koufax, Nolan Ryan, Goose Gossage, and Ardolis Chapman. Also featured are Tony Gwynn, Derek Jeter, Hank Aaron, and other baseball greats as they recount their past encounters with some of these pitchers. The film also takes a look at the many different ways the speed of a pitch was detected before it became regular technology. A must-see for any baseball fan who will surely learn something from this. Narrated by Kevin Costner.

Jon's Movie Preview of the Week
Disney continues it's successful run of live-action remakes of their classic animated movies of the past as they tackle the live action/animated 1977 movie Pete's Dragon. Set in 1982, the movie follows a 10-year-old boy named Pete (Oakes Fegley), who has no home or family and claims to have survived in the woods with the help of a green dragon he has named Elliot after being discovered living in the woods by a forest ranger in the Pacific Northwest.
The film also stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Robert Redford, Oona Laurence, Wes Bentley, and Karl Urban
Jon's Movie Preview of the Week - Suicide Squad (PG-13)
DC Entertainment continues to build their Extended Movie Universe with the highly anticipated Suicide Squad directed by David Ayer (End of Watch, Fury). Following the events of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, government official Amanda Waller assembles various super - villains locked up in Belle Reve prison and tasks them with extremely dangerous missions in exchange for time off of their prison sentences and also saving the world. This is not good vs evil, this is BAD vs evil.
The stellar cast includes Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, and Jared Leto as The Joker!
