This Friday sees the release of Roar Uthaug’s adaptation of Tomb Raider, which is based on the popular video game franchise that debuted in 1996. The film is more based on the reboot of the video game of the same name that was released back in 2013, while also taking elements from the game’s sequel Rise of the Tomb Raider. With the right success, Tomb Raider could be the jolt that brings life back into movies based on video games, a genre that has had minimal success in the past.
